"Jack" is the seventh track by Melanie Martinez featured on her second studio album, Fairytale Dreams. It was also released as a single.
Theme[]
This song is about Jack, one of the students Sophia bullied during the events of Evil Queen, getting his revenge on her by trying to kill her. However, this didn't work, or else the album would only have 7 songs.
Lyrics[]
Italics= DFG
Bold= Both
Those weren't my glory days
The days of school
Back when I was breaking all
Of the rules
Back when I always meant the worst
There was a couple kids I hurt
But that's all in the past
(whispered) Or is it?
Jill ran up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack pushed Jill down the hill
Then a couple of times he stabbed her
I told her she could look
At new styles
And now she hasn't come
Home in a while
If she was up and gone
Don't think I can carry on
But she's probably safe and sound
(whispered) Or is she?
Jill ran up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack pushed Jill down the hill
Then a couple of times he stabbed her
You stabbed me but it wasn't fatal
Made it out alive
You stabbed me but it wasn't fatal
Made it out alive
Jill ran up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack pushed Jill down the hill
Then a couple of times he stabbed her
Jill ran up the hill
To fetch a pail of water
Jack pushed Jill down the hill
Then a couple of times he stabbed her
Music Video[]
The first scene is flashback clips of Sophia bullying Jack. Then, Sophia is going shopping for clothes when a suspicious-looking teenage boy, introducing himself as Jack, offers to show her where the pair of pants she was looking for is. He then pushes Sophia into a nearby clothes rack and starts stabbing her. Sophia waves her arms in the air to indicate that she needs help, and the shopkeeper pushes Jack out of her shop, and offers to help Sophia.
Trivia[]
