"Hall of Mirrors" is the ninth song on Melanie's fourth album, Gummies.
Theme[]
This song is about people copying off other people because they want to be popular like them. Melanie compares being someone who is getting copied off of to walking into a hall of mirrors, where everyone looks exactly like her. Although she is never name-dropped in the song, it is believed that this song is about Angela Torres.
Lyrics[]
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
I said
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
They say imitation is the highest form of flattery
Like their unique style is still charging like a battery
I really gotta go now
You're tryna steal the show now (show now)
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
I said
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
I wish I had real friends
Too many paper people to meet the ends
All these copycats be crazy
I'm gonna go home and cry like a baby
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
I said
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
I said
All these mes staring back at me, I'm in a
Hall of mirrors, hall of mirrors
All these mes staring back at me
I'm in a hall of mirrors
