"Gummies" is the opening and title track by Melanie Martinez for her fourth studio album, Gummies.
Theme[]
This song is a dark kickoff to a very dark album, in which Cry Baby explains that she is over her breakup with Sophia's father, and she thought he was over it too, but then Sophia's father tries, and nearly succeeds, to kill his daughter by giving her gummies with arsenic in them. This makes Cry Baby understandably upset.
Lyrics[]
She was eating a bag of gummies
When I found her on the floor
She was crying, coughing up blood
I told her not to have anymore
But they were just too delicious
As I called an ambulance
I heard her say her last wishes
I could hear the sirens...
They tried so hard to save her
They barely did
That fucking monster put
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
Arsenic in her gummies
I called his number this morning
I had been blocked, so I
Called his mother to ask him where he lived
She said House Number Eight
Then I drove there and asked him why he'd do this
He said he wanted a child unlike the rest
That she was just a pest
That she didn't deserve to live...
They tried so hard to save her
They barely did
That fucking monster put
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
They tried so hard to save her
They barely did
That fucking monster put
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
Arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-a, a-a-a, a-a-arsenic in her gummies
That fucking monster!
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
A-a-arsenic in her gummies
