Background[]
Melanie said that she would be quitting music in early 2026, however she said she would have music under a different name called "Eros", and released a single called "Void", featuring IC3PEAK[1].
This single was released May 12, 2026, and many fans thought it was another artist not her, until she had confirmed.
Through a discord server she had created they announced that they were going to release a new album called "Genesis", people speculated the album was going to be like her old music, but they said "It will be something that I haven't done in music before." Fans attempted to leak music, they kept it safe, so most attempted leaks were fails, but they were able to get a title of a song called "FEAR IS THE MIND KILLER" which turned out later to be a cover of a Zheani song, Melanie had to take it off the album due to this.
An snippet of a unknown song accidentally leaked, which turned out to be called "Yin & Yang", that song was scrapped too. Melanie said that the album would be inspired by Poppy, Allie X and Tally Hall. She said the album would have 13 tracks and 3 deluxe tracks. They announced that this album would have producers from her old career, however there would be many more new producers like D3M0NFR0MH34V3N.
Another single called "000" leaked on TikTok, however Melanie said that she was not going to throw away leaked songs anymore.
Melanie mentioned before the official name was released, that the album would symbolize the beginnings of beginnings.
Theme[]
On tumblr Melanie made a post about the album saying that there would be a art contest for a certain character called Eros who was named after a god.
Little was known about them, many fans assumed that Eros would have a past similar to Cry Baby, so they made Eros like Cry Baby but a different color scheme.
There was one artist called NicoleNightshade who made something different then most of the tumblr artists, Melanie pointed out that her alter-ego, Eros was just like that, so Nicole won and got to help write one of the songs for the deluxe version of the album.
Melanie said Eros would have a bizarre & exquisite vibe to them, and a very weird backstory that was complicated. When fans asked about Eros's gender, Melanie replied that Eros was genderfluid and Eros's gender depended how on you saw them. Eros would also have friends, just like Cry Baby, and there would possibly be a crossover between the 2 characters she had created in another album or EP that would be released in the nearby future.

- "000" is "Recess" from her old K-12 album, however it is a much more louder and interpolated version and the lyrics are supposed to be a alternative version[3].
